USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
  • NOT FOR USE in fountain pens, rollerball pens, with feeder systems. Use with dip pens, brushes, washable instruments only.
  • Shake well before use. If ink has been left still for a prolonged period of time, stir ink to reincorporate pigments that have separated. Please note, separation is normal for calligraphy inks.
  • To clean, use isopropyl alcohol to dissolve dried ink. If dried ink persists, leave to soak in alcohol briefly and wipe clean.
  • Avoid getting ink on fabrics, ink will penetrate fibres and cannot be removed.

Copper Carnival - Calligraphy Collection - Opaque acyrlic ink with gold shimmer

Curious about FWP new line of "professional calligraphy ink" discovered on website when checking out End of Year / New Year promotions. High price point compared to other wellknown respected brands acrylic calligraphy ink, the bottle is fair size and what better time to try than when inks advertised buy 2 get 1 free, collect loyalty points, daily spin for more (sadly like website problematic, not working often although required 24hrs passed between spins), can stack with other promotions, offset the high minimum base plateau for free shipping with FWP, avoid the high shipping cost on smaller purchase which makes unrealistic - sadly can't just pickup since office address only community away. Described as "waterproof acrylic ink", have plans for other than calligraphy or use on paper. Packaged in lovely compact ornate heavy glass bottle, that if finish or being acrylic limited life span, plan to re-use for other inks and mediums. Although prefer transparent inks with sheen, shading ability, described as "vivid deep amber with gold shimmer" this is a lovely opaque copper with lots of luminosity from shimmer, which in sketch journal swatch inks in, has reflective depth of more than gold shimmer listed, unless fallout from others on page. Comes in small compact colourful box reflective of hue within, that easy to store without excess empty space like some FWP inks, weird size, or shape. Looking forward to dipping into for project wanted to try for while. Pleased FWP claims their inks at least are Made in Canada, hope that means all types and components sourced here. And that someday all their products and staff will be, making Canada strong, free and great again in all ways that important for wellbeing of nation, people, economy, future, sustainability, resilience, environmental impact, footprint, and returning Canada to lead producer of pens and inks once again.
