This ink shows up darker than expected, nearing brown almost. I was expecting something similar to diamine's oxblood in color, but side-by-side this is darker. That being said, the shimmer in this ink is wonderful. It is one of the most consistent, visible shimmers I have seen in a long time. Most need a close look, shifting light, but this one's shimmer is visible just sitting on the page even from a distance.

beautiful dark moody red with standard (not my favourite part) gold shimmer. Shimmer is fine enough so that the ink behaves well.
Ink shows a tiny bit of shading in bigger nib sizes and is eligible in all nibs that i tested (fine, medium, stub nibs, glass dip nib...)
The base colour is beautiful and i will definitely use it quite a bit.
I do love the options of the small 10 ml bottle that are available, but also love the design of the bigger bottle.

Although it seems impressive, I found that it doesn't shimmer much, but it's still a beautiful blood red.

This is the first LTR ink I have in the collection. Shadows of Mordor is so exceptionally powerful and unique. When used in my journal, it gives a gothic-horror vibe, yet with a hint of awe! In painting, this ink demands respect, especially when the gold shimmer catches the light.

I have collected many fountain pen inks. But the Shadows of Mordor is a remarkable shade and color and I have fallen in love with it. Madly and passionately in love.
