The Beauty and the Beast | Valiant Blue

I’m a blue lover. The colour is lovely and the little sparkles make everything more wonderful than ever. I decided to use one pen for work and I feel happy every time I sign with my unique ink. Thank you

Described as "True Blue with Duochrome green/gold shimmer" this is a bright mid blue ink in the book swatched in. Laugh at FWP "Explore the topsy-turvy world of...". Reminder, user beware, the "miniature glass globe with a widened neck to fit most pens" could easily be a messy expensive nightmare if not careful. To avoid this I put the bottle in small demi mug, or votive candle holder, and keep eye on wayward paws, as my environment real life far from risk free simple would like it to be. I invested in small glass bottles that use eyedropper to transfer ink to and use from, avoiding spills and contamination. I enjoy experimenting and drawing with FWP inks, dipping antique nibs, fountain pens, and brushes into and applying on ink wash, which can create subtle hue and shimmer. Although FWP inks have higher price point than some other wellknown quality inks, what better time to try than end of Year / New Year promotions. which at time of review inks still advertised buy 2 get 1 free, collect loyalty points, daily spin for more (sadly like website problematic, not working often although required 24hrs passed between spins), can stack with other promotions, offset the high minimum base plateau for free shipping with FWP, avoid the high shipping cost on smaller purchase which makes unrealistic - sadly can't just pickup since office address only community away. Luckily, did before price jumped days later on all products except those clearance inks marked down. Note if remove more than one of these bottles from boxes, it can be hard to identify which is which! Sadly FWP doesn't label these bottles with colour name, sometimes initials only on tiny round label (that could fall off) or none at all. Nice feature of many of FWP is the silicone round or stopper that keeps from leaking easily. Don't forget to put back in place first before put cap back! Packaged in fancy compact colourful box, that easy to store without lot of excess empty space like some FWP inks, weird size, or shape. Pleased FWP claims their inks at least are Made in Canada, hope that means all types and components sourced here. And that someday all their products and staff will be, making Canada strong, free and great again in all ways that important for wellbeing of nation, people, economy, future, sustainability, resilience, environmental impact, footprint, and returning Canada to lead producer of pens and inks once again.

It's like the deep blue of the sky at sunrise. So far works really smoothly without and clogging.

A pretty, shimmery blue that reminds me of a fairy tale.

This ink can be challenging for some pens, but with the right nib and feed it's absolutely stunning. Medium or broader for the best effect. The shading effect really stands out with print writing. Very concentrated gold with a little green mixed in to add some extra pop. Looks great on bright papers like Clairefontaine and TR.

It is indeed beautiful and in no way beastly. Valiant it is for sure! After doing my swatch, I could picture it not only as a flower, but as a sky or a soft flowing river. I have added it to one of my pens...(I have several as you need more than one colour to write with...) and am now anticipating my choice of whether to do a card or an abstract or simply let it sit in the sun and use it as a crystal that will throw beautiful blues on my walls! Well done Ferris Wheel! You never seem to disappoint! Always a fan!
