Aluminum Carousel Fountain Pen - Bearrington Black

Lovely looking fountain pen in deep charcoal black with rich frosted effect. Quality feel weight of metal finish that preference for durability. Curious about the Aluminum option since first saw appear, as someone that not impressed with earlier release of plastic Carousel, hesitant about and wondered how compared to metal Kaweco Sport that similar design to that enjoy.

Purchased during New Year Holiday seasonal 50% promotion. Great time to try out stock! Just received review options, after advised FWP Customer Service at time of purchase looking for - to use on more pens and inks before run out! Filled inbox with all the temptations - would prefer to see link from within account, then no delay or overload to email.

Pulled out pen to refresh memory for review and inspire creativity, as a lot of time passed since first impression. Hopeful from marketing image that would have shimmer "starry" effect that love in other pens. Reminds me of finish admire in some platinum special editions with nicer weight quality feel. Subtle shiny brushed finish, lovely colour and unique addition. Not as compact as Kaweco Sport, nice in between full size compact and portable pen. Looking forward to dipping this one and getting hours and years of enjoyment.

Nice that FWP boxes unique, easier to store and find in collection without opening each when looking to use. Prefer compact boxes and simple shapes, as takes up less storage room or travel space.

The Berrington Black Fountain Pen by Ferris Wheel Press has a smooth matte black finish that feels great in hand. The white scrollwork on the grip, with its floral details, adds a touch of elegance without being over the top. Had an aluminum Carousel pen in an other color and nib which I enjoyed already quite a lot. Then I got this ! Seriously ? I mean the matte black, so luxurious and then the nib...oh yeah! Feels like winning the lottery. This will become one of my go to pens for the regular inks for sure.

Wow, what a beautiful pen.
Smooth, flows well, and the details on the grip are just charming.
I love the soft feel of the brushed aluminum.

Let's be clear: I LOVE the idea of Ferris Wheel Press. But their lower level pens really don't cut the mustard (or maybe I'm just super-fussy with my fountain pens). I just don't find they let ink down very easily. I have Oinking Embers ink in this one currently & it's a struggle to write with. Grrrr (I'm the Big Bad Wolf)
