The Carousel Fountain Pen - Tumultuous Tides

This is my favourite coloured pen.

I couldn't live without this colour pen. It is such a beautiful shade and ocean theme is my thing.

Simple very light compact full size fountain pen in rich bright deep turquoise hue. Lovely shade, gentler to the eyes, and not tumultuous but rather depth reflecting, prefer to illuminated online version. Curious about the re-crafting and promise of FWP Carousel Fountain Pen - "the all new and improved...Carousel is now made with a strengthened material formulation that is twice as strong as before, creating an instrument that will not be outlasted by your creativity!" Had seen reviews of new and old, hard to tell at times which iteration. As someone that not impressed - deeply disappointed - from first touch with earlier release of plastic Carousel, and more so with lack of customer service when arrived with wrong nib size and rollerball instead of nib, in lockdown nightmare traumatized by many family losses and abuse, instead of fountain pens ordered, with no company assistance, and delay through kindly new retailer resolving manufacturer production issues that also experienced same customer service challenges, hesitant about risking any purchase again, literally took years to give another try, and wondered how compared to Kaweco Sport that similar design to that enjoy. Purchased during New Year Holiday seasonal 50% promotion. Hard to go wrong, economical price with discount, low risk, feasible if buying order that applies to FWP high base level for free shipping, as otherwise shipping high even though only community away. Great time to try out stock! Received fast, on New Year's Day, even though courier website said closed and no delivery on statutory National Holidays, including New Year's Day. So nice surprize on sad day. Just received review options, after advised FWP Customer Service at time of purchase looking for - to use on more pens and inks before run out! Filled inbox with all the temptations - would prefer to see link from within account, then no delay or overload to email. Pulled out pen to refresh memory for review and inspire creativity, as a lot of time passed since first impression. Hopeful from marketing image and spin that lives up to. Personally, I skim over all Ferris Wheel Press fantasy writing, feels too much like doing just because, lacks meaning and clutters mind that dangerous "rabbit hole" to go down in society that already challenged. Pleasing colour, reminds me of rich turquoise and claims of healing powers of stone, not as compact as Kaweco Sport, nice in between full size compact and portable pen. Bought one for extra gift for friend, that thrilled with colour and nib choose for (Brilliant Beanstalk - F), fancy packaging, size, feel, writing experience, and pen fit nicely for travel in one of those SDM fancy gift card tins with other supplies, paper, pencil, eraser, some ink... Looking forward to dipping one (bought selection of F and M to try) and getting hours and years of enjoyment. Hoping lives up to expectations....Friend tried, loved, sent followup thank you text with photo of writing, nature sketch and ink used. Since like simplicity of dip pens and ink, not big deal and nicer and more affordable than many options today. Nice that FWP boxes unique, easier to store and find in collection without opening each when looking to use. The box has open window can see colour, labelled, and pleasing old fashioned pattern feel. Prefer compact boxes and simple shapes, as takes up less storage room or travel space. Hoping that FWP becomes truly Canadian company, including quality timely effective customer service, with all products sourced and Made in Canada, and essential to all of our future - as Nation, People, and Company, environmentally and economically sound practice - not just empty marketing "designed in" as source from China, at detriment to everything Canada, and sell at markup.

I am a novice fountain pen user but so far I really like this one! I do find that it sometimes doesn’t flow as smoothly with the shimmery ink I’m using, but I read that with a fine nib this can happen. It was easy to fill!

The pen is very lightweight, so I was a bit nervous to try it at first and worried I wouldn’t like it. Instead, it has become my everyday pen. I use it for bullet journaling and idea generating, and maybe because it’s still new to me, I play and doodle with it as well. The ink flows so smoothly and it’s super easy to refill. I just wish it had come with extra chargers and that I had ordered more ink colours too!
